The KPR series is KACON's full range of cylindrical inductive proximity sensors for detecting metal targets without contact. The lineup runs from ultra-compact Ø3, Ø4, M4 and M5 models — small enough for flush mounting in the tightest spaces — through the standard M8, M12 and M18 sizes to M30 long-distance models that sense steel at up to 40mm. Every model is sealed to IP67 with an enhanced waterproof design, and the sensing face and circuit are protected against reverse polarity, overload and short circuits.
Outputs cover DC 3-wire NPN and PNP in NO and NC, plus 2-wire versions for simple two-wire loops. Connections are a standard 2m cable or M8 / M12 connectors, with standard, short and ultra-short bodies to fit the available mounting depth. With response frequencies up to 2000Hz on the compact models, KPR sensors handle high-speed counting, position and speed detection on machine tools, packaging and assembly equipment, conveyors and automated lines.
A KPR model number is built from: mounting type (flush, or non-flush as standard) + sensing distance + housing size + output type (3-wire, 2-wire or 4-wire) + voltage range + connection method (standard 2m cable; M8 connector; M12 connector; connector with cable) + housing type (standard, short or ultra-short body). Output codes: 1 = NPN NO, 2 = NPN NC, 3 = PNP NO, 4 = PNP NC; 2-wire models are NO (code 5), with NO/NC selectable versions (code 9) on some sizes.
